Artist Statement

Using charcoal powder and brushes, my current portrait series merges two of my creative outlets: music photography and art. The vocalists I've drawn either represent milestones and memories from my time as a music photographer, or significant periods of my life from childhood to now concerning music. I intentionally chose reference photos that were taken by other music photographers whose work I admire.
